Create your profile:

Your profile is your chance to express yourself and attract your ideal partner. Here are some things you can do to make it shine:

Verify your profile with our photo verification feature
Add your work, education, and at least 3 (and up to 9) gorgeous photos
Write a captivating bio that tells us what makes you special
Add some playful Profile Prompts that ignite a conversation (Tip: Use open-ended questions or statements that invite a response!)

Swipe and chat with ease:

Now that your profile is ready, let’s see how the app works. When you open the app, you’ll see the Swipe Pool where you can swipe right or left on other members. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see four icons: a gear (settings page), the bTroo logo (your Swipe Pool), a chat bubble (your matches and conversations) and an avatar (your profile).

Settings - this is where you can manage your purchases and account settings.
Swipe Pool - this is where you can fancy or pass on other members.
Conversation / Match queue - this is where you’ll find your current matches and conversations.
Profile - view and edit your profile as it’s seen by other members.

In your Swipe Pool, you’ll be able to fancy or pass on profiles. If you fancy someone and they fancy you back, it’ll be a match! It’s like a high five, a fist bump, or a fireworks show. It’s a way of saying “Hey, we like each other. Let’s chat!” If you fancy someone and they haven’t fancied you yet, don’t worry. You’ll get a match notification when they do. But both of you have to fancy each other for a match to happen. You can have up to 3 matches at the same time. The matches are not formed right away, but only once a day and only if both of you have less than 3 matches. Once a match is formed, a chat will be ready to start.

Once a match is established, you will have 72 hours to chat until the connection expires. It’s like a countdown, a timer, or a ticking bomb. It’s a way of saying “Hey, we don’t have much time. Let’s make it count!” If either one of you wants to extend the conversation even further, you can tap on the time left and extend it by another 48 hours. It’s like a bonus, a reward, or a lifeline. It’s a way of saying “Hey, we want more time. Let’s keep talking!”

Each person’s profile is divided into two parts: Public Profile and Private Profile. The Public Profile includes your photos, prompts and some of your bio, and it’s shown in the Swipe Pool. The Private Profile includes other prompts and other parts of your bio, and it’s only shown to your matches. After you and your match have a deeper connection, you can both reveal your full profiles by tapping on the Profile Reveal button on the chat screen. Only after both of you have requested to reveal the profiles will they be shown.

Oops! Did you use the wrong phone number to log in? Don’t panic, we’ve got you covered. You can get back to your original account in a snap. Just follow these simple steps:

Mobile:

Tap the grey gear in the top right corner of the screen. That’s where all the magic happens.
Scroll to the bottom and tap “Log Out.” Don’t worry, we won’t miss you too much.
Login and make sure you are signed in to the correct account. There you go, you’re back in business!

You have a new phone number and you can’t log in to your bTroo account? That’s a shame! 😥

We’re sorry, but if your phone number has changed, you can’t access your account anymore. And bTroo can’t help you get it back. In this case, please contact us here to ask for your account to be deleted. Just choose the “request my data” option, fill in the relevant information, and say that you want your account to be deleted. Our team will need to verify your identity to make sure you are the account owner and have the right to make such a request.

Within the bTroo app, tap the avatar icon on the far right of the navigation bar. That’s where you can access all your settings and preferences.
Tap the “Edit Profile” button to open the profile editor. That’s where you can unleash your creativity and charm.
All bTroo members are required to have three (or more) photos and four prompt answers. This helps us to create a more three-dimensional picture of who you are so that other members can get to know the real you. Trust us, it’s worth it!

Filters are a feature on bTroo that helps you find the people you want to swipe on.

You can choose the filters for who you’re interested in, age, and distance when you create your account and you can change them anytime. But if you want more options, you can use Advanced Filters.

Advanced Filters are part of bTroo Premium and subscribers can choose as many as they want. But you can only use a filter if you’ve told us about yourself in that category (for example, if you haven’t said if you smoke or not, you can’t filter for non-smokers).

To set up Advanced Filters, follow these steps:

Go to your swipe queue and tap on the icon in the top right corner Scroll down to ‘Filters’ and tap ‘Set advanced filters.’ From there you can pick the filters you want to use

Remember: The more filters you use, the fewer people you’ll see in your Swipe Pool. If you feel like things are too quiet, try using fewer filters to see more people.

Are you seeing people who don’t match your filters? That’s because we have a new feature that automatically relaxes your filters a bit to show you people who are close to your preferences. You can find out more here.

Sometimes, you just know when someone is not your cup of tea. That’s why you have the option to pass on someone that you don’t feel a connection with. If you do, you won’t get matched with them even if they liked you back. But don’t worry, it’s not the end of the world. You can always change your mind later and give them another chance. If you run out of profiles in the Swiping Pool, you can ask to review the ones you passed on again. Who knows, maybe you’ll see them in a different light and hit it off. We believe in second chances!

Fancy is the action when you feel a spark with someone. If they feel the same way, you’ll get matched and chat later on.

By clicking on the Softspot action, you can let people know you fancy them. It’s like sending them a virtual hug, a kiss, or a heart. It’s a way of saying “Hey, I really like you. Do you really like me too?”

What is Profile reveal? It’s the ultimate way to show your true self to the other user. The app will let you reveal your whole profile to them when you have a deep enough conversation in the app. It’s like taking off your mask, opening your heart, or baring your soul. It’s a way of saying “Hey, this is me. Do you want to know me more?”

What is Public Profile? It’s the sneak peek of your awesome self that you give to the people who check out your profile. And later, to the people that you choose to reveal yourself to. This section doesn’t include your name, because we want to keep the mystery alive and protect your identity. So make sure you put enough information here to make them curious and intrigued by your persona.

What is Private Profile? It’s the secret side of your awesome self that you only share with the people who you’ve matched with. Other souls will see your name and some more details, but not how you look. That way, they can focus on learning who you really are, not just what you look like. It’s like playing a game of hide and seek, where you only reveal yourself when you’re ready.

What is a Soul? You are a Soul. We call our brave love seekers on the app Souls, because they are more than just profiles. They are unique, beautiful, and wonderful beings who are looking for their true match. Souls are not afraid to show their inner self, their passions, and their dreams. What are Prompts? Prompts are extra bits of text that you write about yourself. They are like clues, hints, or teasers that you give to other people. There are Public Prompts that will be shown to anyone who sees you on the Swiping Pool, and Private Prompts that will be shared only with those you’ve matched with (these ones can be more personal). Prompts are a great way to show your personality, your interests, and your sense of humor. They are also a great way to start a conversation, break the ice, and find common ground. So go ahead and write some Prompts that will make people curious and excited about you!

Why has my photo been moderated? We want bTroo to be a safe and friendly place for all of our users. That’s why we have some photo moderation rules that you need to follow.

If your photo has been moderated, it might be because of one of these reasons:

Your photo is too hot to handle. We don’t allow erotic content on bTroo, so keep it classy, not trashy.
Your photo is of someone under 18 by themselves. We don’t allow minors on bTroo, so please don’t upload photos of your kids, siblings, or friends who are not of age.
Your face is not clearly visible for some reason. Maybe your photo is too small, blurry, or dark. Maybe you’re wearing sunglasses, a hat, or a mask. Maybe you’ve used too many filters or stickers. Whatever the reason, we need to see your face clearly on bTroo, so please upload a photo that shows your beautiful features.
Your photo has a watermark on it. We don’t allow photos that have logos, symbols, or text on them. This includes photos from other apps or websites. We want you to upload original photos that belong to you and only you.
Your photo has a caption or text over it. We don’t allow photos that have words on them. This includes memes, quotes, or messages. We want you to use your own words to express yourself on bTroo, not someone else’s.
You have uploaded a photo of someone who is not you. We don’t allow photos that are not of you. This includes photos of celebrities, models, cartoons, or animals. We want you to be yourself on bTroo, not pretend to be someone else.

How do I verify my profile?

It’s super easy and super quick. All you have to do is take a selfie mimicking the random pose you see on your screen and send it to bTroo by following the simple steps. We’ll then use our magic and our brains to check if your selfie matches the person in your profile photos, and within a few minutes, your verification will be confirmed or denied.

Don’t worry, your selfie photo won’t be shown on your profile and it won’t be seen by anyone else. We only use it to verify your profile and make sure you’re not a catfish. We respect your privacy and we follow our Privacy Policy.

To report someone, please follow these steps:

Go to the profile you want to report, whether it is on the Swiping Pool or on your matches.
Tap on the dots at the right top corner
Tap on “Report”
Choose one of the report reasons for our moderation team.
Once we get your report, our moderation team will check it out as soon as possible. We can’t always tell you what we do about it, but please trust us that we take every report seriously and handle each case with care.

If you can’t find a conversation, it could be that your match has deleted their account, has been blocked on bTroo or has decided to unmatch you for now. If that’s the case, don’t worry, you can still report them by reaching out to our team; we’re here for you!
